Modern Russian architecture is generally defined from the postware period of the later 40's / early 50's through today. Here's a quick contrast study (with what's known as the Soviet "Brutalist" 70's architecture on the tower on the right, mid-range 1990's residential tower in the middle, and a much more recently constructed stone & glass high rise on the left).
