Hard to find Russian Graffiti

walking is something you do a lot of in moscow (we've been averaging at least 3-4 hours of it every day - and sometimes a lot more) which comes out to about 12 miles a day so I can say that we've seen a lot of the nooks and crannies around town up close and personal, and one of the things that strikes me is that for a city of this size and population - Moscow has a surprisingly low level of visible graffiti.   Probably 1/10 as much as Los Angeles.

Maybe is a cultural thing (the gang/rap culture from the US and other urban centers in the world isn't really alive here), or maybe it's related to enforcement (for all I know maybe they chop your arm off if you get caught spray painting or tagging in russia) but all I know is that graffiti is virtually non-existent.   Here's some of the only ones we've seen... you'll notice they're more character driven instead of the gang based chicken-scratch scribbling that you see back in the states.     The third guy is pretty happy to have his cake !
